Storm costs mount further

The Glen Amy flats on Turnbull Street suffered much damage

The number of displaced Empangeni residents from last week’s supercell thunderstorm is growing by the day as the true extent of the damage is uncovered and costs mount.

The Glen Amy flats on Turnbull Street suffered much damage, including segments of the roof blowing clean off the buildings.

Flat owners and tenants are pleading with the body corporate to carry out as many repairs as possible until insurance quotes can be obtained.

“We hope the insurance and body corporate can sort this out as soon as possible so we can go back to our homes,” said one homeowner, Lavern Consses.
