Free dumping for storm-related waste at Empangeni landfill site

Those taking advantage of the limited offer must present proof of residence

The City of uMhlathuze on Thursday announced it has arranged for residents affected by last week’s supercell thunderstorm to dispose of their green waste (garden debris) at the King Cetshwayo District Municipality landfill Site in Empangeni for free.

Those taking advantage of the limited offer must present proof of residence or a municipal account at the site.

According to the city, this relief is available from yesterday (Thursday) to Monday, 17 April.

The municipality urged citizens to take full advantage of this offer as it ‘does not have operational vehicles’ to assist immediately.
