More pain at the pumps as April petrol increase on the cards

Motorists to tighten their belts as another petrol price increase is forecast

With yet another petrol price increase on the cards and the recent hike in toll tariffs, motorists are poised to tighten their belts.

While there will be some reprieve for drivers of diesel vehicles, petrol users will not be so lucky.

According to unaudited mid-month data from the Central Energy Fund (CEF), ULP95 could increase by 10c/litre while ULP93 is likely to rise by 9c/litre.

The price of wholesale diesel could drop by around 34c/litre, while illuminating paraffin could be slashed by 47c/litre.

Taking the recent toll fee hikes into account, motorists driving between the Zululand region and Durban will have to fork out significantly more should they be planning to travel this long weekend.
