SAPS spokesperson Lieutenant Sbusiso Mkhize said four unknown suspects are being sought for the crimes.

“It is alleged that when the complainant was about to close the tavern, and was busy counting cash, he noticed an unknown male entering the premises, holding a firearm which he allegedly pointed at the complainant,” said Mkhize.

“He then demanded cash and liquor. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and liquor of an undisclosed value.

“Soon after that the suspect left the liquor outlet and fired two shots in the yard. The complainant noticed that a further three suspects were standing outside, and they all disappeared.

“After that the complainant went out to check on the security guard. He discovered that the guard was shot on the left hand side and was taken to the clinic,” he said.

A reward of R3 000 for information regarding the robbery has been offered. Anyone with any information regarding the incident can contact 082 8908612.
