Government pledges to work with local mission

Deputy president pledges to continue the work of Zululand's KwaSizabantu Mission

IN a bid to help continue the work of KwaSizabantu Mission, the government has pledged to partner with the entity.

This was revealed by Deputy President Paul Mashatile on Sunday during the non-denominational church mission’s Easter service.

As well as attending the service with his wife and ANC provincial leaders, Mashatile laid a wreath at the grave of the mission’s founder, Erlo Stegen, who died in September 2023.

Mashatile praised the community work offered by the mission.

“We acknowledge the tremendous work they are doing for the community. I think the vision of the late Reverend

Stegen is something that must be pursued.

“We have committed the national, provincial and local government, and are going to work in partnership with (the mission) to do more of what they have started,” he said.

Mashatile said he was invited to KZN and decided to visit KwaSizabantu because he had heard, and was moved about what the mission was offering.

He was warmly welcomed by the KwaSizabantu Trust board and other senior members.
