Sunday’s head-on collision left five family members dead, including a three-year-old and two-month-old baby.
The fatal collision occurred on the R66 Nyezane area near the Dokodweni Bridge in Gingindlovu.
According to the IPSS Medical Rescue response team, a further seven occupants sustained injuries, with four children, all under the age of 14, suffering serious injuries.

The patients were stabilised on scene by IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support Paramedics, before being transported to nearby facilities for further care.
Rescue operations included emergency teams from the uMlalazi and Mandeni Fire Departments, other ambulance services, and the RTI Gingindlovu team.
KZN MEC for Transport and Human Settlements Siboniso Duma has expressed condolences to the friends and family of the deceased.
