Wet Wednesday for KZN, snow forecast in places

Brace for cold, wet Wednesday, snow forecast for some parts of South Africa

Zululanders, beware! A cold front that is sweeping across South Africa is set to bring rain and plummeting temperatures to KZN tomorrow (Wednesday) and Thursday.

Southern parts of the province will experience a cold, wet Wednesday, with snow forecast for Lesotho and parts of the Eastern Cape.

The likes of Underberg in the southern Drakensberg is set for lows of 5 and 3 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and Thursday respectively, with temperatures reaching just 12 degrees on both days.

In the Zululand region, eShowe is set to experience highs of just 17 degrees Celsius and a 60% chance of rain.

Thursday will be even colder for the inland Zululand town, with highs of 14 degrees and 80% chance of rain.

Further north, Richards Bay and Empangeni are in for highs of 22 and 21 respectively on Wednesday, which will be dry in the Bay.

Empangeni residents can expect a 60% chance of rain on Wednesday, but otherwise partly cloudy conditions.

Thursday in Richards Bay will also be cool, with highs of 19 and a 63% chance of rain; Empangeni is in for highs of 18 and a 77% chance of rain.

Further north still, Mtubatuba can expect highs of 21 and 19 degrees C on Wednesday and Thursday respectively, with more than 80% chance of rain on both days.

Hluhluwe residents are in for partly cloudy conditions on both days, with temperatures reaching 23 on Wednesday and 18 on Thursday.

Inland, Pongola can expect 24 degrees and hazy sunshine on Wednesday, with highs of 20 degrees and partly cloudy conditions on Thursday.
