Cooler temperatures in store after searing Thursday in Zululand
THE mercury may be rising to around the 40 degree Celsius mark today (Thursday), but rest assured, relief is on the horizon.
This as temperatures are set to ‘plummet’ to a much more manageable 24 in Richards Bay (from a forecast 36 degrees today), 23 in Empangeni and Mtubatuba, 25 in Hluhluwe, and a cool, wet 19 degrees in eShowe on Friday.
With temperatures fluctuating over the coming days, Saturday is set to be in the high 20s and low 30s across much of the region, while Sunday drops to the low 20s, Monday rises to a possible 30 degrees, ahead of wet weather from Tuesday next week.

Tuesday, 16 and Wednesday, 17 September will see highs of 21 and 16 in Richards Bay respectively, with a 60% and 55% chance of rain over those two days respectively.
Empangeni residents are in for 30 degrees and potential thunderstorms on Saturday, with temperatures dropping to 20 and 17 on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively, and 69% chance of rain on both days.
Mtubatuba temperatures are set to be more stable until Tuesday, when they drop to 22 degrees and 16 on Wednesday, with 60% and 62% chance of rain over the two days respectively.
Further inland, eShowe residents will feel the bite on Friday, with 19 degrees Celsius and 73% chance of rain, while a warmer weekend precedes Tuesday and Wednesday’s temperatures of 20 and 16 degrees Celsius respectively, with 65% chance of rain on Tuesday.
