Case postponed for Richards Bay pastor facing sexual assault charges

Richards Bay pastor sexual assault case rolled over to November for regional court date

A RICHARDS Bay pastor facing charges of sexual assault, made another court appearance on Tuesday, and the case was remanded to November.

The matter was transferred from the Richards Bay Magistrate’s Court to the Empangeni Magistrate’s Court, and rolled over to 6 November for a regional court date.

The pastor stands accused of six counts of sexual assaults on minors, as well as a 19 year old, and was granted bail in May.

He is accused of violating several victims between 2023 and 2025 near the church premises. The cases were opened at the end of April.

In the first two counts, it is alleged the accused unlawfully and intentionally sexually violated a 19-year-old complainant by forcing himself onto her and trying to kiss her, and touching her buttocks on another occasion.

On the other counts, which involve minors between the ages of 13 and 15 years old, the victims alleged various violations on various occasions.
