Pedestrians knocked in Richards Bay

Two people seriously injured after being knocked by a vehicle on East Central Arterial in Richards Bay

Two pedestrians were seriously injured after they were knocked by a light motor vehicle this (Saturday) morning.

The incident which occurred near Birdswood in Richards Bay forced the partial closure of East Central Arterial, causing traffic congestion on the route.

It is reported that the female pedestrians had been walking on the side of the road when a vehicle left the road, ploughing into them, leaving them seriously injured.

Emergency services were quickly on scene, including uMhlathuze’s fire department, traffic officials and ambulance services Medcare24 and KZN Emergency Medical Services.

The injured pedestrians were taken to hospital for further treatment.
