TROGON House reigned supreme at the 2017 Grantleigh Inter-House Athletics Day held on Saturday, bagging the coveted House trophy after their athletes dominated in the track and field events.

But the highlight of the day’s proceedings, was five new records being bettered by individual talented athletes.

Senior Victor Ludorum winner Wandile Gumede broke the U16 Boys 100m record after crossing the line in 11.46 seconds.

Individual trophy winners on the day are Marco Prinsloo (Junior Victor Ludurom), Wandile Gumede (Senior Victor Ludurom), Kumaya Pather (Senior Victrix Ludurom) and Alicia van Zyl (Junior Victrix Ludurom) with Mrs Filmalter and Mr Norris

Simon Upfold set two new records in the Boys U19 category.

He broke the 400m and 800m records when jetting home in 55.08 seconds and 2.18.03 respectively.

Zifiso Mdletshe set a new Girls U15 shot put record after launching the projectile 9.16m.

In the boys U14 shot put event, a new record got recorded after Jared Binks threw an impressive 12.41m.

Marco Prinsloo was awarded the Junior Victor Ludurom, Kumaya Pather the Senior Victrix Ludurom and Alicia van Zyl the Junior Victrix Ludurom for their standout performances on the day.
