THE visitors’ dressing room is a celebratory place right now with Richards Bay FC having left the field after the final whistle rang out their 1-0 win over NFD front runners Sekhukhune United.

Lwandile Mabuya got the goal that mattered only 13 minutes into the opening half and a superb defensive effort saw them cling on for their first three-pointer of the season.

Having lost their first game 1-0 away to Tuks and then drawing 2-2 with Cape Town All Stars at home there is a definite upward improvement that augers well as the tightly congested fixture list unfolds.

But it’s a home Nedbank Cup contest at the uMhlathuze Stadium on Friday that is the first priority, before coach Simo Dladla’s charges host Jomo Cosmos in the GladAfrica Championships next Tuesday, 15 December.
