Stunning win for King Cetshwayo cricket ladies in away encounter

KCCD cricket ladies dominate UKZN in promotional league victory

The King Cetshwayo Cricket District (KCCD) ladies’ side hammered UKZN in their 20-over Promotional League away game on Sunday.

The home side won the toss and would have regretted the decision to send the Zulus in to bat, as they smacked the ball all over the park.

After the unfortunate early run-out of Amanda Shandu, there was no stopping opener Noxolo Biyela and captain Thasa Ndebele as they went on an early run shopping spree to take the total to an imposing 165/1 at the end of the allotted overs.

Both were unbeaten, with Biyela smashing 86 runs and Ndebele 53 in an explosive partnership.

The lesson for the students continued when they came out to bat as they were dismissed for a miserable 41 all out in only 8.3 overs, with five KCCD bowlers sharing in the carnage.

Another great win under the belt for the local ladies, who are having a fine season.
