How to enter X-Factor SA

If you're bursting at the seams at the news South Africa is going to get its own X-Factor show, then this is what you need to know to enter to prove you have the 'X-Factor'.


Want to win R300 000 and a Sony Music recording contract, then this is what you need to know:

Who can enter:

Anyone over the age of 18 can enter. Soloists and groups are welcome but no bands are allowed.

How to enter:

  • You can pre-register online for open auditions which start on 7 June around the country. Pre-registering will let you fast-track through the registration process at the audition venue. To pre-register, fill out the form by clicking here. You can only pre-register online if you have a valid email address.
  • Can’t do it online? Well don’t worry, you can still register on arrival at one of the audition centres on the day.
  • Can’t wait for auditions to open or afraid you can’t make it to one of the audition dates?  Then why not audition online? All you have to do is fill in the form by clicking here. Then you’ll need to upload a short video of you or your group singing. It’s really that easy.

 

Audition dates:

  • 7 June: Durban, Sahara stadium
  • 11 June: Bloemfontein, Bloemfontein Civic Centre
  • 14/15 June: Cape Town, Athlone stadium
  • 18 June: Polokwane, Peter Mokaba stadium
  • 21/22 June: Johannesburg, The Pyramid venue
  • 25 June: Nelspruit, Mbombela stadium
  • 28 June: Pietermaritzburg, The Royal Show Grounds

 

Important things to know:

  • Come prepared to sing two songs at the audition
  • Dress to impress!
  • No bands allowed – groups must be two or more singers
  • A valid South African identity document is required for auditions
  • You must read and agree to the Terms and Conditions of the competition
