House catches fire after load-shedding

Family has no means to replace the burnt appliances.

Tsakani – Another house caught fire on Sunday morning in Tsakani Ext 14.

The house belongs to Duduza XI Masters player and captain Bongani ‘Tower’ Mngwevu, who was out while his

wife and their three children were at home. The children are a boy, aged two, and two girls, aged nine and 13.

According to Tower, the fire started from a meter box in the lounge at the return of electricity at 00:00.

The family lost all in the kitchen and lounge, including appliances and Tower’s work laptop.

Tower is the family breadwinner and doesn’t have the means to replace what they lost, or rebuild the rooms.
