Brakpan organisation uplifts Mgongo community

Local organisation continues feeding and mentoring programme, with community support driving its success.

Brakpan-based non-profit organisation Village of Hope continued its efforts to mentor, support and feed children from the Mgongo informal settlement near Brakpan North.

With support from the Mgongo CPF, the Village of Hope team, including Tlhokomelo Masolane, Nsuku Baloyi and Lungile Mushwana, hosted an outreach programme on April 28, which was described as a success.

“The children were happy, and the mission of the organisation, which is “Reach Out and Touch a Soul”, was truly fulfilled,” said the NPO’s founder, Tumie Masolane.

Gratitude was also extended to Logan Naina from Rise Against Hunger, under the Inner Voice Foundation, as well as to community members who assisted with transport and the filling of gas cylinders to enable meal preparation.

Preparations are still under way for the organisation’s School Winter Drive, with the official date yet to be confirmed.

Village of Hope calls on community members, companies and organisations to partner with them in making a meaningful difference in the community. For any support or donations, contact Tumie on 073 934 7409.
