Tsakani – Vulnerable families and schoolchildren in Tsakani received food parcels and stationery during a community outreach organised by Feed a Child, Feed a Nation on July 29.

Founded by Gugu Nhlengetwa, the organisation distributed soya rice meal packs and pens to families facing financial hardship, bringing relief to many households.

The initiative was made possible through a donation from the Chayii Foundation, which contributed three boxes of soya rice meal packs to Feed a Child, Feed a Nation for distribution to families in need.

Nhlengetwa said the donation came at a crucial time, particularly for unemployed families waiting for their social grant payments to meet their basic needs.

“Our aim is to revive hope and ensure that no family goes hungry while waiting for assistance. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a meaningful difference in someone’s life,” she said.

One grateful beneficiary said the meal packs would help the family get through the week without having to borrow money from a loan shark to buy food.

“This food will help us survive until we receive our social grant. It means I do not have to go into debt just to feed my family,” said Thandi Mabuza.

Feed a Child, Feed a Nation thanked the Chayii Foundation for its generosity and encouraged businesses, organisations and community members to continue supporting initiatives that assist vulnerable families and help restore dignity and hope within the community.
