Wolves want new challenges
Shooting hoops and winning games is what the basketball team strives for the most.
KwaThema Wolves is the only basketball team in KwaThema.
The team practises during the week at the KwaThema Sport Complex, but cannot play any of their games there because of the poor infrastructure.
Coach Sipho Nkosi says some of the challenges they face is, ‘having only one basketball hoop (goal post) and people who casually walk on the court while the team plays’.
However, the Wolves refuse to focus on the negative, but continue to do their best.
‘We won the Ekurhuleni basketball league, which ended late last year and now we are busy trying to get sponsors, so that we can pay affiliation costs and play in the Soweto league.”
The coach believes this would be a new level for the team and it would challenge the players.
