IN an aim to eradicate poverty, Made in SA Boet of SA Polyhammer, with Smart Meals Africa, donated 280 ready-packed meals to Amcare.
Made in SA Boet’s donation was made possible after their annual golf day event which brought local businesses together.
The fund-raising event resulted to a sale of hammer key rings worth R2 000 with proceeds affording Made in SA Boet an opportunity to purchase ready-packed meals from Smart Meals Africa.
In support of Amcare, Smart Meals then donated the ready-packed meals, which are estimated to feed at least 1 680 people.
Amcare will distribute the meals to the underprivileged. The meal is all-natural with no artificial flavourings consisting of rice, lentils and dehydrated vegetables.
Dean Fegen, a business owner in Alrode of Made in SA Boet, commended the support received from locals during their golf day.
“Through the support received from local businesses we wanted to make a difference through our Need To Feed campaign. I am happy to be part of this life-changing partnership and I want to eradicate poverty,” he said.
Nadine Mason, Amcare’s marketing director, said: “It takes a community to heal a community, it also takes a community to grow a community. It takes businesses to get on board to make a difference in the lives of others. We are grateful for the donations which we have received, they will go a long way in helping others.”
