WATCH: DopeFlop Music marks his footprints in the music industry
Thokoza's DopeFlop Music believes that he is where he is now in the entertainment industry because of the love the fans show him.
Alberton keeps showing that this is a community harbouring many rising stars.
Joy Mkhwanazi (20), popularly known as DopeFlop Music, is a local star from Thokoza who started his music career at the age of 12 and started recording in the studio a year later. He has not been looking back since.
According to the local star, music has always been part of his life and has played a huge role in grooming him to be who he is today.
“Music has taught me how to manage my time wisely. I started with music in primary school and I needed to balance both music and academics to ensure that I fulfilled my parents’ wishes plus mine at the same time,” said the musician.
His parents were supportive of him living his dream, but they were also strict with the fact that he needed to pass with good grades for him to continue pursuing his music journey.
DopeFlop Music has shared the stage with some hit-making artists such as Silo Magolide, Musiholiq, Mduduzi Ncube, Lwando Buso, Ndlunkulu and the founder of Nkabi Records himself, Siyabonga Nene, widely known as Big Zulu.
His manager, Jennifer Cloete, said that the reason he has shared the stage with internationally acclaimed artists, although only being in the industry for a couple of years, is because of the way he respects his work and the effort he puts in to make it big in the industry.
“I do not usually work with local artists but it has been a great pleasure working with him because of the high level of professionalism he portrays in everything he does or touches. He surely is on the right path of living his dreams,” Jennifer told the Alberton Record.
The rising star produced over five hits already with his new hit titled Matasa playing on radio stations such as Kasi FM, Alex FM and Vibe FM.
DopeFlop Music dropped the iVIBE music video that is being broadcasted on Multichoice’s music channels such as Channel O, Trace Africa and MTV Base.
“All I can say is that this is not my effort and dedication but the support I receive from everyone who takes their time to listen to my music and pass it on to their loved ones,” said DopeFlop Music.
The aspiring star plans to give his audience more music, which will talk to everyone who believes in the different journeys of life.
