In a concerning incident, the naked body of an unidentified man was discovered floating in the river along R550 Heidelberg Road, next to the Zonkezizwe informal settlement on December 31.
According to the Kliprivier SAPS, despite the presence of onlookers from the nearby informal settlement, the deceased remains unidentified.
The body has been transported to the Sebokeng Mortuary for further investigation.
“We urge anyone with information that could assist the police in identifying the deceased to contact Detective Constable Botes at 011 903 8205 or 076 698 4692,” said Lieutenant Colonel Mofokeng Lekete Jan.
