Murdered Alberton mother and son: Woman’s partner denied bail
Boyfriend denied bail in a double murder case.
Fredie Stapelberg (34), the prime suspect in the brutal murders of his girlfriend Nadine Terblanche and her nine-year-old son Ruandré, was denied bail in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on March 6.
The tragic incident occurred at Terblanche’s Randhart home on November 27.
The court decided to deny bail because of concerns about Stapelberg’s psychological state, which was deemed potentially dangerous to himself and others.
The ruling was met with applause from the court gallery, indicating widespread support for the decision.

Stapelberg appeared emotionless in court alongside his co-accused, Pardon Danhire (37), who had worked as a gardener for Stapelberg and Terblanche for several years.
Danhire, a Zimbabwean national, was arrested on the day of the murders and remained in custody since.
The case has been postponed to May 24 to allow for further investigations. Both Stapelberg and Danhire will remain in custody pending trial.
Friends, family, and supporters of Nadine and Ruandré were present in court, visibly showing their solidarity by wearing shirts bearing images of the late mother and son.
In a new development, it has been revealed that Stapelberg’s family has appointed specialist investigator Mike Bolhuis to assist with the case.
