Busy weekend for Brackendowns SAPS

Members of Brackendowns SAPS made a soaring arrest of at least 21 undocumented persons among many other arrests over the weekend.

The men and women in blue of Brackendowns SAPS worked around the clock to combat crime in their policing precinct over the past long weekend.

Over the weekend, from August 8, members nabbed over 30 suspects for different offences.

Seven suspects were arrested for drunk driving, two were nabbed for intimidation, three for shoplifting, one for theft and one suspect was also nabbed for assault.

Two suspects were also brought in for resisting arrest and interfering with police duties. The station detained 21 undocumented persons or illegal immigrants.

Sergeant Lindile Moloi, the spokesperson from the Brackendowns SAPS reiterated that they are committed to sweeping crime off the streets.

“We have a zero-tolerance against drunk driving because innocent people die daily on the road due to this kind of crime,” said Sergeant Moloi.
