Car theft suspects chased from Alberton all the way to Soweto
Security officers were called to a suspected theft of a vehicle in progress but when they arrived, the suspects had just fled the scene.
Officers of Fox Security received an emergency call in the early hours of November 27 from an Alberton resident reporting a suspected vehicle theft.
The resident spotted the suspects around the VW Polo, trying to forcefully open the car, which resulted in an urgent call to security officers.
Seconds after the suspects had fled, response units received descriptions of the getaway car and the stolen VW Polo.
A high-speed chase ensued from Alberton to Soweto.
In Soweto, the suspects’ getaway vehicle crashed; they abandoned it and fled on foot.
The officers conducted an extensive search around the area where the getaway car had crashed and recovered the stolen VW Polo 10 minutes from where the getaway vehicle was abandoned.
The officers handed the getaway car to the local SAPS in the area.
