Man (56) stabbed to death during Albertsdal hijacking

The hijackers fled with the victim’s Mahindra Balero after fatally stabbing him during the confrontation.

A 56-year-old man died during a hijacking on Cedarberg Street, Albertsdal, on September 20.

Hijackers fatally stabbed him, wanting his Mahindra Balero.

According to a friend of the deceased, he and the deceased were sitting in the vehicle of the deceased when two unknown males confronted them.

One criminal opened the driver’s door and told the deceased to get out of the car or he would shoot them. They got out of the vehicle, and the hijackers got in and started it.

The deceased then pulled a hijacker out of the car. The hijacker stabbed the deceased in his left main artery in his neck during the confrontation.

No firearm was used. The criminals fled with the vehicle. It is unknown if it has a tracker.

The case is under investigation, and anybody with information can call the Brackendowns SAPS on 011 617 5600.
