Crime update in Alberton: 2 suspects arrested after break-ins
CPS Security reaction officers made two positive arrests in Alberton North and Brackendowns after a business break-in and cellphone robbery attempt.
Swift responses from CPS Security officers and vigilant community members led to two suspects being arrested in separate incidents on September 25.
Arrest in Alberton North
CPS Security reaction officers responded to alarm activation at a business premises in Alberton North.
On arrival, they discovered a suspect at the back of the property. After confirming with the client that no one was authorised to be there, officers searched the suspect’s bag and found multiple house break-in implements.
Alberton SAPS were notified, and the suspect was handed over for further investigation.
CPS Security noted that the arrest reflects their team’s strong training and commitment to protecting local businesses.
Arrest in Brackendowns
In another case, a CPS reaction officer was on a patrol in Letaba Street when a client reported two suspects attempting to break into his property.
While searching the area, the officer was alerted by a garden service crew that they had just been robbed of a cellphone by suspects matching the same description.
The officer gave chase and apprehended one of the suspects at the Shell Garage in Andries Street.
The second suspect escaped, but the arrested individual was handed over to Brackendowns SAPS for further investigation.
