Stolen R1m VW recovered in Brackendowns

A stolen VW Amarok was recovered in Brackendowns thanks to the quick response of local security teams and community members.

Thanks to the swift action of community members and security teams, a stolen VW Amarok valued at R1m was recovered in Brackendowns on October 21.

The vehicle, reportedly being stripped on a dirt road near Leopard’s Rest, had false number plates and was registered to a rental company in Cape Town.

The recovery was credited to the collaborative efforts of the Brackendowns CPF, CPS Security, Sentinel Security, Fox Security, Fidelity Services Group and the Brackendowns SAPS.

“The vehicle was recovered in time, as it was in the process of being stripped. The suspects will remain in custody until they are charged,” said Captain Sibeko of the Gauteng SAPS.

The suspects fled the scene, and the vehicle was taken to the Brackendowns SAPS for further investigation.
