Suspect caught after string of thefts in Alberton
Swift action by the store’s security team, Fox Tactical, and Armed Response leads to the suspect’s arrest; three theft cases are opened at Alberton SAPS.
A well-known local business in Alberton experienced a series of theft incidents from November 21 to 24.
The repeated thefts came to an end thanks to swift action and coordination between the store’s security team, Fox Tactical, and Armed Response.
A suspect, caught on camera stealing goods on multiple occasions and escaping on a motorcycle, was apprehended and subsequently arrested on November 25.
The suspect, involved in several thefts at the business, had been evading capture until now.
Three cases of theft have been opened at the Alberton SAPS in connection with these incidents.
Captain Sibeko of the Gauteng SAPS spoke about the arrest.
”I know the suspect is in custody and facing charges of theft. The footage will be analysed, and further charges might be added,” said Captain Sibeko.
The suspect is currently being held at the Alberton South African Police Service (SAPS).
The successful apprehension of the suspect is being hailed as a result of great teamwork by everyone involved, helping keep the Alberton community safer.
