Brackendowns SAPS and partners conduct joint road block in Alrode

License Plate Recognition cameras aid in crime prevention.

Brackendowns SAPS, in collaboration with Katlehong SAPS, EMPD, CPS Security, Sentinal Security and Gauteng Traffic Wardens, conducted a joint road block operation on Rivett-Carnett Street in Alrode on November 27.

The operation aimed to check for valid licenses, vehicle roadworthiness and wanted individuals.

According to Captain Sakhe from Brackendowns SAPS, “The road block was a success, with several unroadworthy vehicles taken off the roads and so far one individual wanted in connection with car theft was arrested. We will continue to work with our partners to ensure the safety and security of our communities.”

Gauteng SAPS Captain Sibeko added, “Our joint efforts with private security and other stakeholders demonstrate our commitment to combating crime and keeping our roads safe. The License Plate Recognition cameras provided by CPS Security were instrumental in identifying stolen and wanted vehicles.”

During the operation, License Plate Recognition (LPR) cameras were used to scan and identify vehicles, quickly alerting authorities to any stolen or wanted vehicles.
