Truck tyre syndicate targeting Alberton logistics companies foiled by CPS Security
CPS Security intercepts syndicate targeting logistics companies in Alberton, recovering stolen truck tyres valued at R150 000.
The swift reaction of CPS Security officers to a truck tyre robbery at a logistics company on November 13 resulted in the arrest of one suspect.
The robbery occurred at a logistics company on Heidelberg Road, near VW Lindsay Saker in Alberton.
The incident took place at approximately 05:00, when nine suspects entered the premises and stole six truck rims and tyres from several vehicles.
Tyrone van der Merwe, director of CPS Security, said the response team acted immediately after receiving a panic signal and arrived within minutes with substantial backup.
“The officers apprehended one suspect and recovered the stolen tyres, valued at approximately R150 000,” he confirmed.

He added that the team had not recovered any of the suspects’ vehicles. They handed the apprehended suspect to Alberton SAPS, who are investigating the case.
CCTV footage and other leads are being used to trace the remaining suspects.
Van der Merwe noted that this was not the first incident of its kind in the area.
“This syndicate has been targeting logistics companies in Alrode,” he said, noting recurring patterns in similar crimes along Heidelberg Road and in Alberton.
