CPS Security participated in the SAPS’ annual festive season safety operation led by the provincial office.

The large-scale operation saw more than 500 SAPS officials deployed across key routes and public spaces, which underscores a commitment to crime prevention and road safety during the high-risk festive period.

As part of the initiative, 3 458 vehicles were scanned using the CPS mobile licence plate recognition unit, enabling authorities to identify suspicious vehicles and enhance real-time crime detection.

Visible policing was reinforced through visits to local shopping centres. The provincial commissioner, accompanied by CPS Security teams, engaged with the public and assessed safety measures, aiming to reassure shoppers and deter criminal activity.

Local taverns and bottle stores underwent compliance inspections to ensure adherence to trading regulations and promote responsible alcohol sales.

These inspections were a critical part of reducing alcohol-related incidents, which typically increase during the festive season.

The operation led to several arrests, highlighting the effectiveness of collaboration between SAPS and private security partners.
