Back to School | Primary schools in Alberton welcomed their first-time learners

Back to School for Alberton’s ‘bundles of joy’. The Alberton Record was there to capture some of the special moments.

On January 14, thousands of pupils returned to school after SA’s festive season break. The learners, some of whom are first-time pupils, started their first term of school in various schools across the country, including Alberton.

A ‘bundle of joy’ is a common phrase used to describe a newborn baby or toddler. However, it has increasingly been used to refer to preschoolers and school-age children.

It is also used to express warmth, happiness, and excitement that children bring to families.

The Alberton Record was there to capture some of the special moments. We visited Alberton Primary School, located on Newquay Road in Alberton, where we were greeted by bright-eyed and excited grade one learners.

The Record then went to Laerskool Generaal Alberts on the corner of Penzance Street and Saint Aubyn Road and also popped in at Kenton Primary, to meet the school’s Grade One learners.
