Domestic workers appreciated

The director at BBM Law, Ms Marina Constas, was the guest speaker at the event. She highlighted domestic workers who have committed to the forums, educated themselves and engaged with the Bedfordview Community Police Forum to combat crime.

The Bedfordview Community Police Forum year-end Christmas function took place on Wednesday, November 27, at the Bedford Chapel.

The director at BBM Law, Ms Marina Constas, was the guest speaker at the event. She highlighted domestic workers who have committed to the forums, educated themselves and engaged with the Bedfordview Community Police Forum to combat crime.

“We have three domestic workers’ forums in Bedfordview and we always like to give back to them at the end of the year because they do a lot and are part of our community.

“The forums have grown over the years and our target for next year is a total of 500 Bedfordview domestic workers who will be involved in the various forums,” said Ms Constas.

Domestic workers who attended four or more forum events were awarded certificates of good attendance. Pick n Pay vouchers were handed out to those with full attendance. The workers were provided with items from Nino’s at Bedford Centre and hamper items from The Cavaleros Group. The event provided entertainment from the Immaculate Amabhubesi Amnyama cultural group.
