Grandad (79) missing from Croydon may be walking to Nelspruit

John Smith suffers from Alzheimer's disease, went for a walk at around 10.30am and did not return. Residents are urged to report any information to the SAPS immediately.

A search is on for an elderly man who went missing yesterday morning.

According to Sebenza SAPS spokesperson, sergeant Sharon Tsotsotso, John Smith was reported missing by family members.

“He went for a walk on April 10 around 10:30am but never returned to his home in Croydon, Kempton Park. His family said he suffers from Alzheimer’s disease which makes him relive his past memories.

“They said he has been constantly talking about places like the Kruger National Park,” said Tsotsotso.

She said someone reported to have seen him on Baker Road and he was also seen on N12 heading towards Nelspruit.

He is described as:

• 79 years old

• White

• Green eyes, grey hair

• 1.65 meters tall and weighs approximately 85kg

• Wearing blue jeans, navy polo shirt, red and black trainers and a khaki jacket.
