The man’s identity is unknown.

Mrs B Lewis writes:

On January 27, I was travelling down a street in Rynfield.

It had been raining and the road surface was wet.

When I turned onto a street, I noticed a tiny bird sitting in the middle of the road, soaking wet.

I pulled my car off the road, put the hazard lights on and walked towards the bird.

Two cars were approaching, so I flagged them down by waving my hands in the air.

The first vehicle (bakkie) pulled off the road, and a gentleman ran towards me to see what the problem was.

I pointed to the little bird, which I was trying to pick up.

This precious man immediately proceeded to help me capture the bird.

He managed to – very gently – put his hands over the bird.

He then placed it in my hands.

LETTER: Help care for cats of all kinds

This kind person, upon putting the bird in my hands, said: “Now it is safe.”

I was brought to tears by the kindness, the caring and the gentleness of this gentleman.

All I can say over and over again is “thank you so much for caring”.

I deeply regret that I did not ask for his name.

Young man, I trust that you will read this and know how deeply I appreciate your act of kindness and caring.

You are indeed a very special young man.

May God bless you richly.
