The event is organised annually to thank the organisations, schools, malls and businesses that act as controllers of blood drives.
Terrance Pillay, from SANBS, hosted the evening and he and his team emphasised the importance of the controllers in bringing in the necessary amount of blood for SANBS.
Daniella Snyman was the guest speaker at the dinner.
Snyman is a cancer survivor who received several units of blood and platelets during her treatment.
She thanked the controllers on behalf of other cancer patients for the blood they help to bring in.
