Weekly concentrated operations will continue to stamp out crime.

• Possession of drugs
Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) members arrested a man (39) on May 9 on charges of being in possession of drugs.

The arrest happened on Boundary Street, Rabie Ridge. Cocaine was recovered.

• Contravention of the Immigration Act
On May 12, BFS members spotted a man acting suspiciously on Van der Walt Street, Dalview.

On further investigation, they found he had entered the country illegally and was arrested.

• Vehicles recovered
Officers found a white Mercedes truck on Dewald Hattingh Street, Mackenzie Park and a white Hyundai i10 in Winnie Mandela, Zone 6. Both vehicles were reported hijacked.

A red VW Polo was recovered on Celia Nestadt Road, Rynfield. It was reported stolen in Rabie Ridge.

• Rapid Response Services (RRS)
From May 3 to 9, units forming part of RRS arrested 123 people during concentrated operations throughout Gauteng.

Sixty-four suspected were brought to book for priority crimes, including assault with the intent of causing grievous bodily harm, murder, business robbery, housebreaking, possession of housebreaking implements, kidnapping, extortion, theft, possession of suspected stolen property, robbery, possession of counterfeit goods and being in country illegally.

Further policing led to the recovery of 43 hijacked and stolen vehicles, accompanied by eight arrests on charges of being in possession of these vehicles.

Eighteen suspects face charges of being in possession of unlicensed firearms, and 15 weapons were taken off the streets.

Thirty-three suspects were arrested on charges of being in possession of drugs.

Heroin, dagga, cocaine, Mandrax and meth were confiscated
