Possession of drugs
Members of the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) arrested 10 suspects on charges of possession of drugs with the intention to sell.
The arrests were made from May 20 to 23.
• Two men were arrested in the Kempton Park CBD, they were found in possession of 10 ziplock bags of meth, one bag of cocaine and eight packets of heroine.
• Two suspects were arrested in Laris Road, Etwatwa. Two large brown bags of dagga, with an estimated value of R15 000 was found in their possession.
• On the R555, another two men were arrested after they were found in possession of three bags of dagga, valued at R10 000.
• Three people were arrested Daveyton and Chris Hani squatter camp. Mandrax, heroine and meth were recovered.
• A man was arrested in Tsakane after he was found in possession of mandrax.

Arrest
During a routine patrol, on May 23, in Central Avenue, Kempton Park, BFS members were flagged down by a member of the community.
The man claimed that a suspect wanted in connection with a case of hijacking and assault was in West Street.
Officers accompanied the complainant, who positively identified the suspect.
The man was arrested and handed over to the Kempton Park Police Station.
Rapid Response Services (RRS)
Units forming part of the SAPS Rapid Response Services, including Flying Squad, K9 Units and Highway Patrol, arrested 95 across Gauteng from May 16 to 22.
Participating in concentrated operations, 37 suspects were arrested on charges of assault with the intent of causing grievous bodily harm, possession of suspected stolen property, attempted murder, rape, driving under the influence of alcohol, malicious damage to property, damage to essential infrastructure, possession of unlicensed ammunition and a dangerous weapon, abduction, possession of illicit cigarettes, impersonating a police officer, contravention of the immigration act, contravention of a protection order and theft.
A total of 35 hijacked and stolen vehicles were recovered with nine accompanying arrests.
Further policing led to the recovery of 10 unlicensed firearms. Twelve suspects were arrested for possession of these weapons.
RRS members also arrested 37 suspects on charges of being in possession of drugs, with the intent to sell.
Heroine, dagga, cocaine, mandrax and meth were confiscated.
