‘Pot’tering in Benoni

Peter Bachtis writes by email:

The once the Jewel of the East, is now pock-marked with so many potholes, the town resembles a seriously acned face.

Urgent attention is required, however, it seems that Ekurhuleni has run out of funds to pay for such maintenance.

Is it possible that funds destined for road maintenance have been hijacked for other projects like staff lunches, office parties, never ending incomprehensible meetings … just wondering.?

Some potholes are so large now that they could be used as sizeable bird baths, miniature gardens and even off road obstacle courses for off road motor bikes.

So who is the joker responsible for road maintenance in this town?

Whoever you are, you need to communicate with the people of this town and explain your lack of action.

Perhaps we need to bring a strong woman like Patricia de Lille to show you how … if you catch my drift that is.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
