Easterns hockey is growing
The Eastern Gauteng Hockey Association (EGHA) hit the ground running this weekend with the start of both the men’s and women’s leagues at the Eastern Gauteng and St Dunstan’s College AstroTurfs.
President of the EGHA Chris Fall said that it is amazing to see the growth in the sport of hockey in the Ekurhuleni region.
“We are proud to announce that our development side from Reiger Park has entered our women’s league and are already showing great promise with a 1-0 win over the Benoni Northerns Angels on Saturday,” said Fall.
He added that the men’s league, too, has grown, with 11 teams entered and a number of promising new players joining the ranks.
If there is anybody who is interested in playing hockey and joining a team email the EGHA at admin@egha.co.za.
