Warrior women celebrated

Women from Durban and surrounds celebrated women's month at a Robin Hood Foundation event.

THE Robin Hood Foundation hosted a Warrior Women fundraising breakfast recently at Onomo Hotel.

This celebration of women was a morning of pampering and spoils for the 300 women that attended. The event was hosted by MC, Sam Daykin, and guests enjoyed inspiring guest speakers Cindy Norcott, Trish Eksteen, Shivanie Naidoo, Chrissy Sibeko, Ursula Coster and Candace Van Wyk, and powerful performances by exceptional local artists Carmen Louisa Rodrigues and Jane Baillie Magner as well as a beautiful poem Warrior Women, Empowering Women written and recited by 16-year-old, Londeka Dube.

“The aim of the morning was to highlight and celebrate the women in our community – the action takers, the difference makers, their inner beauty and strength and at the same time raise funds for our Buy-A-Brick 2019 Thandolabantwana Crèche uplift and build as well as various other community outreach projects for the remainder of the year,” said Cindy Norcott, founder of The Robin Hood Foundation.
