
FOR the 10th consecutive year, Manor Gardens Primary received the top school award for achieving the best in overall placement by having the most number of pupils with the highest combined score.
Star College held its 12th annual Horizon Mathematics Competition which hosted more than 6000 first round entries from 130 KwaZulu-Natal schools, and was followed by 750 second round entries from 39 schools.
Children from Grade 5 to Grade 7 wrote the same problem-solving exam. The first round was held at the schools and the second round written at Star College. The top 200 learners were celebrated at an awards day function held at Star College on 3 August.
Manor Gardens Primary School’s Lloyd Geddie was first in Grade 5 with Nicholas Hardman from Grade 6 placing 13th, Benedict Robbins from Grade 7 placing 11th, Joseph Foxon from Grade 7 placing fourth and Joshua Christopher from Grade 6 placing ninth. The boys all placed in the top 20.
