Post Office apologises
A pensioner was frustrated when she couldn't do photocopies at Musgrave Post Office as it had run out of paper.

A pensioner was shocked to discover that Musgrave Post Office had no paper in stock on her recent visit.
According to the woman, she visited the post office to have documents photocopied but was told there was no paper available to make the copies.
“I was told I could go to the ground floor of the centre to get some paper myself. I pointed out that I was elderly and physically handicapped, and asked if someone from the post office could rather go. He disappeared into an office and returned with one sheet of paper,” she said.
The woman said she was shocked that a post office, a place where people go to have documents photocopied and faxed, could run out of paper.
“When I said people would not return to Musgrave Post Office out of frustration, as a result of this, the man shrugged his shoulders and said all post offices were experiencing this problem. They could go to CNA to get more paper! This is not good enough and people need to know about this,” she said.
In response to a query by Berea Mail, Khulani Qoma, general manager of communications at the SA Post Office, said: “The SA Post Office is working hard to reduce costs to improve its financial position. For that reason, outlets are supplied with consumables on a just-in-time basis to ensure that money is not tied up in unused stocks. In some cases that may lead to an outlet temporarily running out of consumables. The SA Post Office would like to apologise for the inconvenience that the client experienced and we assure our customers that we are working hard to make sure service remains at the level our customers deserve.”
