Elderly woman knocked over by own car, mugged in Morningside
The elderly woman was found to be in a serious condition when paramedics arrived on scene.
TO add insult to injury, an elderly woman (70) was believed to have been mugged after she was knocked over by her own vehicle in Morningside today.
According to Emer-G-Med’s spokesperson, Kyle van Reenen, paramedics responded to the scene in Gordon Road. The woman was reported to be in a serious condition.

“Reports from the scene allege she had parked her car and was walking behind it when it rolled back, knocking her over and driving over her,” he said.
Van Reenen said it is further alleged that vagrants in the area then robbed the injured female of her belongings, prior to emergency services arriving on the scene.

“Advanced life support paramedics used several interventions to stabilise her before she was transported rapidly by ambulance to a nearby hospital,” said van Reenen.
