Workers injured in Umbilo roof collapse

The workers injured in a roof collapse on Sydney Road were rushed to hospital for treatment after being stabilised on scene. According to ALS Paramedics, the workers sustained moderate to serious injuries.

THREE men were injured when the roof of a building collapsed in Umbilo this morning.

According to reports, the three men had been working on the roof of a factory when it gave way, sending them plummeting. Emergency services were called to the scene following the incident.

ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said that the incident happened around 11:30 on Sydney Road. “Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the men with injuries from moderate to serious and immediately began stabilising them. Once stabilised by Advanced Life Support Paramedics, the three men were transported to a nearby hospital for the further care that they required.
