Enjoy Neon Dreams’ new music made in collaboration with Matthew Mole

Neon Dreams are heading back on the road with new tour dates across South Africa. They will be at the Barnyard Theatre Suncoast on Wednesday, March 27, at 19:00.

The news comes during the exciting start to their year: The new Neon Dreams single, The Art of Letting Go, with Matthew Mole, is featured on streaming and radio charts in South Africa and has started rotation in new territories, including the UK and New Zealand as well as their home country, Canada – all the signs pointing to the single being their biggest release yet.

Neon Dreams is also the opening act for German Indie-pop stars, Milky Chance, during their South African tour in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.

Having immersed themselves in the vibrant music scene of South Africa over the past three years, Neon Dreams – made up of Frank Kadillac and Adrian Morris – have solidified their connection with audiences in the country. This journey has not only seen them resonate with fans but has also allowed them to forge meaningful connections within the South African music scene.

“We’ve been travelling to South Africa for three years, and when I land there, I feel like I’m home,” says Neon Dreams vocalist Frank Kadillac. “With The Art of Letting Go, I’d just returned from India, and I was feeling unbelievably inspired. With this song, I wanted to create a track that’s an anthem for kids who are going through something they may not have a word for, something that’s hard to describe … and I wanted to help teach them to let go of something that’s hurting them. Writing with Matthew Mole is electric. Energy flows through us like water flows through a river. Music is a powerful tool that can help people acknowledge negative energy and release it. That’s the art of letting go.”

Laugh out loud as you watch Marriage for Dummies – we’re also giving away tickets!!

Durban’s favourite comedy duo, husband and wife team, Aaron McIlroy and Lisa Bobbert, star in Marriage for Dummies, a hilarious survival guide for anyone brave enough to take on life’s ultimate challenge. They will be showing at the Rhumbelow Theatre (42 Cunningham Road off Bartle Road, uMbilo) from Friday, March 29 to Sunday, March 31.

“We all know that marriage is more than a relationship – it’s a wild adventure,” say our comedic experts. “Navigating the ups and downs of married life takes planning, elbow grease and HELP!”

Before you decide to throw in the towel, take some advice as Aaron and Lisa share the secrets of marital bliss and help you come to gripes . . . er . . . grips with your partner’s annoying habits ‘because when it comes to marriage, most of us are dummies!’

Structured around the basic format of a marriage seminar, Aaron and Lisa lead the audience through the many trials and tribulations that affect all marriages. In the guise of whacky characters, they identify most of the ‘problems’ marriages face. Aptly styled the Six Steps of Separation, the key points identified include among others: Constant Fighting and Complaining; Household Chores and DIY, and The Outlaws (ie, not getting along with your partner’s family). All the serious challenges are dealt with in a funny and light-hearted way. How the ‘problems’ are overcome is summarised into four basic albeit humorous ideas.

Marriage for Dummies is a show for everyone, married or single. Most of the ideas and theories have been inspired by marriage experts such as Mark Gungor (Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage) and Andy Stanley (Staying in Love). “We believe that ‘comedy’ provides a unique framework, acknowledging the complexities of marriage without getting into the blame game, thus allowing our audience to internalise the lessons without feeling condemned,” says McIlroy.

Show times are as follows:
Friday, March 29 at 19:30
Saturday, March 30 at 19:30
Sunday, March 31 at 14:00
(Venue opens 90 minutes before show for snacks/drinks)

Tickets are R200 each. Bring food picnic baskets or buy at the venue. There is limited secure parking available, and booking is essential. There will be a full bar available. Book via email at roland@stansell.co.za or at Computicket. Or contact Roland Stansell on 082 499 8636.
