uShaka Sea World Education Centre calls for volunteers

If you have a passion for marine conservation and you're looking to gain volunteer experience, sign up for the uShaka Sea World Education Centre's volunteer information session, set for Tuesday, May 14.

IF you’re interested in volunteering at the uShaka Sea World Education Centre, head over to the centre next week Tuesday for an educational programme on how to join the centre’s volunteer team.

According to a statement released by the South African Association of Marine Biological Research (SAAMBR), the uShaka Sea World Education staff will be hosting both a morning and evening volunteer information session as part of their volunteer recruitment drive. The morning session will begin at 10:00 while the evening session will begin at 18:00 on Tuesday, May 14.

“Volunteers in the education department assist in presenting courses, guiding school groups and assisting visitors in the aquarium. No academic qualifications, biological or educational experience is necessary as comprehensive training will be given to successful applicants. All we need is for you to be prepared to work for no salary, be between 18 and 75 years old and have a passion for marine conservation. Volunteers are required both during the week and on weekends and public holidays,” said SAAMBR in their statement.

If this sounds like something that interests you, and you would like to come to either the morning or evening information-sharing session, send an email to Kathy Drummond at kdrummond@seaworld.org.za to book a seat.
