Volunteers needed to spruce up Mitchell Park Zoo

Join in on a community clean-up operation at Mitchell Park Zoo on Thursday July 18 to spruce up the local animal sanctuary.

THIS Mandela Day local animal organisation Mitchell Park Paws are calling on the community surrounding Mitchell Park to help in sprucing up Mitchell Park Zoo so that the beloved public space can become an even more appealing attraction for visitors.

According to Mitchell Park Paws Communications and Fundraising Manager Cayleigh Bright the event is called Community Cleanup, Craft + Cultivate, and all are welcome. “To make the Community Clean-up, Craft + Cultivate a success, we need as many volunteers as possible to sign up to assist on July 18, and for local businesses and individuals to donate some of the materials we’ll need: spare tools, scraps of wood, blankets and food for our feral cats, and more.

In addition to volunteers who can help on the day, we would greatly appreciate donations of wet or dry cat food, blankets for cats and other animals, wood for building, paint, and any DIY tools and supplies.” said Bright. Two slots, at 10:00 and 13:00 are available and all ages and skills are welcome.
