Kolisi praises ‘amazing’ Durban fans

As tradition would have it, Hollywoodbets King’s Park Stadium was packed to the rafters this Saturday, when The Springboks clashed with Ireland for the Castle Lager Incoming Series. The Bokke fans painted the stadium and the vicinity in green and gold, and broad smiles.

THE 2023 Rugby World Cup champions suffered their first loss this weekend going down 24-25 to Ireland at Hollywoodbets King’s Park Stadium in the second game of the Castle Lager Incoming Series.

Despite the loss, the fans were the life of the game as they lived it up in and around the stadium clad in their green and gold.

Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus admitted that they had no excuses for the loss, they had disappointed the fans.

“We fought back from a long way at halftime and converted when we had to but in that last minute, they were better than us,” he said.

Bok captain Siya Kolisi said that the players would spend some time reflecting on their own performances.

“The way we started wasn’t good, and we’ve only got ourselves to blame. We would have loved to have won the series, the people who were here today were amazing in the way they supported us. We are hurting,” he said.

The Springbok team will play Portugal, in the same series in Bloemfontein on Saturday.
