EDITOR – A short note to thank you all at Berea Mail for my “Arno Carstens Unplugged” tickets.
I was made to feel really special when I arrived and his team made sure I received a copy of his debut CD personalized, by the man himself.
Suncoast Casino interviewed me on camera (eek! ) And a photo was taken of me and my guest , my sister-in-law Pamela Thompson, where I hold up my CD.
Not knowing too much of his music I did not know what to expect. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. What a beautiful voice with absolutely no trace of his South African accent.
His music surprises with unexpected tunes thrown in here and there. He is really a unique individual. I especially enjoyed his new song called “Battelscars Galactica” he says it is from his latest album. He simulates bagpipes which I love and think really gives it it’s edge.
He has earned a place on my Walkman, for sure.
